Mechanical Layout Designer – Semiconductor Facilities

We're looking for an Intermediate Mechanical Layout Designer to develop detailed layout designs for semiconductor equipment installations within fab and cleanroom environments. You'll collaborate with facilities, process, equipment, and construction teams — producing high-accuracy 3D models, layout drawings, and installation documentation while keeping production moving with minimal supervision. This role rewards self-starters who take ownership, meet deadlines, and actively pursue growth.

Pay: $36.06-$57.69 per hour

What you’ll do
  • Develop detailed layout designs for semiconductor equipment installations in fab and cleanroom environments
  • Coordinate space planning, tool placement, and workflow optimization for maximum efficiency
  • Produce and maintain layout drawings, 3D models, and installation documentation
  • Create and modify drawings and models via redlines, markups, and conversations to a high degree of accuracy
  • Identify and resolve layout conflicts — utility routing, clearance issues, and access requirements
  • Support tool move-in, installation planning, and ramp-up activities
  • Present Revit and/or Navisworks models during meetings; perform model walkthroughs as directed
  • Prepare deliverables across all project phases — models, plans, elevations, sections, schedules, and details
  • Provide status updates and hour estimates for assigned tasks; identify and address gaps before review
  • Assist in field surveys of existing conditions and respond to coordination requests in a timely manner
What you need
  • Associate’s degree in Computer Drafting and Design or similar — or equivalent on-the-job experience
  • Experience in building systems mechanical design in semiconductor or related high-tech facilities
  • Deep working knowledge of Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam
  • Proven track record of precise drawing and model input
  • Ability to take verbal direction and advance project production with minimal supervision
  • Strong time awareness — solid understanding of how your work impacts schedule
  • Ability to break assignments into tasks, estimate hours, and report to leadership
Nice to have
  • Experience with 3D modeling and clash detection tools
  • Knowledge of semiconductor tool requirements and installation processes
  • Familiarity with safety and regulatory standards in high-tech manufacturing
