Job Description

An established engineering consulting firm is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer with over 8 years of experience to support a diverse portfolio of commercial, institutional, industrial, and government projects.

This role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment focused on delivering innovative fire and life safety solutions.

Responsibilities

+ Manage multiple fire protection engineering projects, including scope, schedule, staffing, budget, and delivery.

+ Provide consulting services to architects, developers, owners, government agencies, and insurers.

+ Interpret and apply ICC codes (IBC, IFC, IMC) and NFPA standards to ensure compliance.

+ Design and review fire alarm, detection, suppression, and smoke control systems.

+ Perform fire and life safety analyses, including egress, smoke control, and fire-resistant construction.

+ Develop performance-based design solutions and special hazard strategies.

+ Conduct site visits and coordinate with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), contractors, and project teams.

+ Lead technical presentations and client/project meetings.

+ Support business development efforts, including proposals and client relationship management.

+ Collaborate across disciplines and offices to deliver integrated engineering solutions.

Essential Skills

+ Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Fire Sciences, or related field.

+ Minimum of 6+ years of fire protection engineering experience (8+ preferred).

+ At least 2 years of project management experience.

+ P.E. license in Fire Protection Engineering (or actively pursuing).

+ Strong knowledge of fire protection systems and life safety principles.

+

Experience with modeling tools such as FDS, CONTAM, and egress modeling software.

+ Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

+ Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Work Environment

This is a Permanent position based out of Portland, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $128000.00 - $162000.00/yr.
