Senior HVAC Design Technician - Hybrid

Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Senior HVAC Design Technician for a Hybrid position with a Global Professional Services Firm located in Portland, OR. This is an 8+ month contract opportunity.

In this role, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary design and engineering teams to lead the development of complex industrial HVAC and Process Exhaust systems for advanced facilities. This position is ideal for an experienced designer who can operate with a high degree of independence in a fast-paced environment, applying technical judgment and initiative to deliver high-quality design packages.

Responsibilities:

• Lead design, layout, and routing of industrial building mechanical systems
• Develop P&IDs, plans, sections, and construction details
• Perform design tasks across planning, concept, and detailed design
• Coordinate directly with clients, contractors, and internal disciplines
• Apply expert knowledge of building mechanical systems and codes to ensure quality and accuracy

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• 8+ years of AutoCAD design experience
• 4+ years of Revit design experience
• 5+ years of industrial building mechanical design experience
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. Mechanical Codes, specifically the International Mechanical Code (IMC)
• Demonstrated ability to independently execute design packages with minimal supervision
• Ability to report to the Portland office 2 days per week
• Please note:
  
  Candidates with 4-year degrees in Engineering will not be considered for this role

Desired skills:

• Experience in complex industrial environments such as semiconductor manufacturing, clean rooms, data centers or other advanced manufacturing facilities
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
• Technical or Associate's degree in a relevant discipline
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Advanced problem solving, planning, and analytical skills

Pay range: up to $90.35 per hour
