In this role you will focus on roadway design and support the full lifecycle of engineering projects, from early pursuits and proposal support through planning, design, permitting, and construction. You will work closely with Project Managers, clients, and multidisciplinary design teams to help ensure projects meet technical expectations and schedule milestones.

We collaborate closely with public agencies, transit authorities, contractors, and fellow engineers to deliver thoughtful solutions that improve mobility and public infrastructure.
Responsibilities include applying engineering principles to diverse projects, leading roadway design on assigned projects, coordinating and communicating directly with stakeholders, preparing design plans, reports, cost estimates, and technical analyses, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing project tasks, fostering strong client relationships, and providing design expertise.
Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, minimum 6 years of applicable transportation design experience, Professional Engineer in Oregon, proficiency in Micro Station and Inroads and/or AutoCAD and Civil 3D, effective communication with excellent writing skills, commitment to technical excellence and meeting client needs, ability to handle multiple concurrent projects and priorities, and experience with transportation agencies in the Portland area, including PBOT, ODOT, and Tri Met.

Compensation is competitive and determined based on the candidate's experience, education, and skills. The expected range for a qualified candidate for this Transportation Engineer position is $95,000 - $115,000. Additionally, we offer performance-based bonuses, flex time, and a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) retirement savings plan, medical, dental, and vision insurance, health savings account, flexible spending accounts, paid family leave, behavioral health options, pregnancy program, disability insurance, paid holidays, paid time off, and other perks such as a hybrid work schedule, free secure bike parking, transit pass stipend, technical educational sessions, monthly social events, winter parties, summer picnics, office committee opportunities, community projects participation, and offsite retreats.
