Substation Project Manager

Responsibilities

• Execute and manage all aspects of power delivery projects from proposal development to closeout.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and quality controls.
• Apply project management tools and techniques—project life cycle, risk, earned value, communication, team coordination, change, and project closeout.
• Coordinate engineering teams throughout the project life cycle.
• Oversee non‑engineering components such as public involvement, environmental permitting, right‑of‑way acquisition, and construction management.
• Lead QA/QC processes to ensure world‑class quality.
• Provide mentorship and training to junior staff, assistants, coordinators, CAD technicians, and engineers.
• Represent HDR in marketing and proposal development for new opportunities.
• Travel may be required for project execution and business development activities.

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Seven years of related experience.
• A minimum of two years of project management experience.
• Strong ability to interact with various design teams and excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills (written and verbal).
• Commitment to active participation in an employee‑owned culture.

• PMP certification.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience with Earned Value Management concepts including Work Breakdown Structure, Physical Percent Complete, Earned vs Planned Value, Cost To Complete, and Estimate At Completion.
