Senior Transmission Line Designer – Grid

• Work in a project team environment with engineers and Electrical and Structural designers/engineers to develop transmission and distribution line drawings/designs
• Apply computer-aided drafting/design skills and receive hands‑on training in 3D design software such as AutoCAD 3D and/or Micro Station
• Develop transmission line plans and profile drawings
• Develop transmission/distribution line hardware details, material lists, and grounding details
• Create master sketches to scale showing proposed installations in relation to existing facilities, including exact specifications and dimensions
• Confer with engineering staff to interpret engineering specifications, weight and volume calculations, and stress factors
• Accompany and assist project team members on walkdowns at client facilities to gather design information
• Interface with vendors and construction contractors and explain drawings so appropriate design adjustments can be made

• Associate’s Degree in drafting, or a high school diploma and 1 or more years of drafting course work or equivalent technical experience
• Proficiency in AutoCAD
• 12 or more years of experience in design/drafting of Transmission Lines
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of technical plans, drawings, and models
• Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including ability to relate various equipment to a technical design
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of the computer
• Ability to multi‑task from project to project
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Work authorization in the U.S. is required;

• Experience with Micro Station, PLS-CADD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and/or GIS software is valued but not required

Proficient in AutoCAD and Micro Station for developing transmission and distribution line designs, with extensive experience in drafting technical plans and models. Strong ability to interpret engineering specifications and collaborate effectively with project teams and vendors.
