OverviewEngineering professional with extensive experience in energy efficiency, building systems analysis, and utility program delivery. Skilled in reviewing and validating energy simulation models (eQuest, TRACE 3D Plus) and custom calculations for commercial HVAC and central plant systems. Proven ability to collaborate with contractors, conduct site assessments, and ensure compliance with program requirements while identifying cost-effective efficiency opportunities. Strong communicator with advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of managing multiple projects in fast-paced environments.
Responsibilities- Review energy efficiency simulation models and spreadsheet calculations developed by third-party contractors to assess accuracy and compliance with program requirements
- Communicate with third-party contractors to resolve any issues identified in project reviews
- Conduct on-site assessments on commercial and multifamily buildings to characterize opportunities for energy efficiency
- Candidate may conduct site visits to verify installation and operation of baseline and replacement energy-using equipment
- Develop data analysis to determine savings from custom energy efficiency projects
- Keep managers aware of project schedules and progress and provide regular time charging/budget updates as requested
- Communicate with contractors and program administrators regarding program requirements
- Stay informed about energy issues and industry trends through regular technical reading and participation in local and national professional organizations
- Bachelors or master's degree in mechanical engineering, or similar program such as Oregon Institute of Technology's Renewable Energy Engineering Degree.
- 4+ years of experience within the energy efficiency, green building, building science, or related fields.
- Experience with analytical requirements for commercial HVAC, central heating, and cooling plants
- Experience analyzing BAS trend data and reviewing sequences of operation to verify the implementation and performance of energy efficiency measures
- Proficiency with Trane TRACE 3D Plus and/or eQuest simulation modeling software.
- Well-developed analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, time management and organizational skills
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and.
- Team player with ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
