Retail Sales Associate

• Deliver exceptional customer service and create a rich customer experience around gaming and creative play
• Greet each customer upon entering and acknowledge them when leaving
• Maximize time on the main floor; use the cash wrap area for transactions, phone calls, lending library requests, and request list inquiries
• Guide customers through product selection by matching game characteristics to customer interests
• Learn and play new games to showcase products throughout the store and restaurant
• Maintain understanding of best sellers and game rules to answer customer questions
• Inform and encourage customers to attend relevant events
• Develop relationships with customers and people in gaming communities
• Maintain additions to the Customer Request log
• Complete POS transactions, including sales, returns, exchanges, and end-of-day reconciliation
• Complete admin website transactions, including online order pickups and sell order drop-offs
• Merchandise and dust product displays daily according to company standards
• Maintain store aesthetics by eliminating clutter and cleaning customer-facing areas
• Follow opening and closing procedures, including alarm usage and coordination with Restaurant and Facilities
• Perform other duties as assigned

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 1 year of prior experience in a retail or customer service role
• Must be able to lift at least 50lbs
• Must be able to work within hours of operation
• Quickly learns and retains knowledge of various genres and mechanics of game play, and multiple hundreds of game titles
• Can identify gaming trends and continuously stays abreast of new games and trends in gaming
• Genuine interest in gaming and creative play
• Ability to teach all manner of games to a diverse audience of both small and large groups of varying gaming experience
• Strong organizational and communication skills and ability to work well with a group
• Ability to convert stressful situations into positive experiences
• Professional and positive manner when working with customers and other staff
• Proficient in cash handling methods, including end of day reconciliation and general utilization of the POS and online admin website
• Experience in credit transactions that protect customer information
• Ability to use common security systems and follow escalation protocols
• Deep knowledge of Board Games, Miniature Gaming, Role Playing Games and/or Magic the Gathering (Preferred)

Demonstrates strong customer service skills with a focus on creating engaging experiences in gaming and creative play. Proficient in cash handling and POS transactions while maintaining a deep knowledge of various game genres and trends.
