Compensation$ per hour. Salary is typically hired between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range depending on experience and any rent benefit adjustments.

Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesThe Accountant prepares, examines, and analyzes accounting reports, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards. The ideal candidate has the following skills:
- High level of complex responsibility
- Working knowledge of Boston Post, Res Man, and SAGE or equivalent accounting software packages and databases
- Enjoys working hard and pursues everything with energy, drive, and a need to finish
- Strong ethic of accountability and dedication to the job
- Functional and technical knowledge to perform the job at a high level of accomplishment
- Team player who is easy to approach, talks well, and builds rapport easily
- Provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers
- Listens and communicates effectively and professionally both verbally and in writing
- Uses time effectively to meet deadlines
- Concentrates efforts on the most important priorities
- Prepare and analyze monthly GAAP financial reports.
- Respond to owners, investors, and agency inquiries and requests as required.
- Assist with year‑end closings, including preparation of annual financial statement packages for outside CPAs and posting audit adjustments.
- Assist with quarterly and annual accounting reports to owners, investors, and regulators.
- Assist with monthly mortgage processing.
- Complete and approve monthly bank reconciliations.
- Reconcile several general ledger accounts and update schedules.
- Calculate and process various journal entries.
- Prepare check requests or bank transfers as needed.
- Assist with calculating management fees to charge clients.
- Assist with year‑end audit preparation.
- Assist Accounting Manager and Controller.
- Travel as required for in‑person classes and annual education conferences.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

EducationBachelor’s Degree in Accounting (B.A. or B.S.) required with 2 years practical experience, or an Associate’s in Accounting with 5 years practical experience.
Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, and RegistrationsValid Driver’s License.
Other QualificationsAbility to operate basic office equipment such as telephones, typewriters, 10‑key, photocopier, and fax machine.
Physical DemandsRegularly requires use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Frequently required to sit, occasionally required to stand, walk, reach, or lift up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift 25‑50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work EnvironmentOccasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. Noise level is usually moderate.
