CV Resources is partnering with a well-established Portland-based nonprofit organization to identify a strong, hands‑on Director of Finance & Accounting to stabilize, strengthen, and elevate its financial operations.
This is a high‑impact leadership opportunity for a nonprofit finance professional who thrives in environments that require structure, accountability, and process improvement.
The ideal candidate is confident stepping into complexity, taking ownership, and building scalable systems.
The organization operates multiple legal entities that roll into a consolidated audit, with each entity requiring its own audit process. Leadership is seeking a seasoned finance leader who can take full ownership of the audit cycle, drive accountability, and implement disciplined processes to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
This role will work onsite to centralize financial documentation and create organized, accessible systems that reduce dependency on any one individual and improve transparency across the organization.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage annual audits across multiple nonprofit entities
Own consolidated financial reporting and ensure timely audit completion
Strengthen internal controls, documentation practices, and financial processes
Centralize financial records into an accessible, organization-wide system
Partner with leadership to improve reporting accuracy and transparency
Provide hands‑on oversight of month‑end close, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
Identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and accountability
7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience
Strong nonprofit audit experience required
HUD experience strongly preferred
Demonstrated ability to clean up and streamline financial operations
Experience managing multi-entity financial structures
Yardi experience preferred
Strong leadership presence with the ability to work cross‑functionally
Comfortable working onsite in a document-heavy environment
Onsite/Hybrid in Portland, OR
40 hours per week (with potential to flex slightly during lighter periods)
