As we scale, we're looking for a Senior Accountant who can help build the financial infrastructure, rigor, and visibility needed for our next stage of growth.

This is a high-impact role for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a fast-moving environment and enjoys balancing detail-oriented execution with business partnership.
You will own the day-to-day accounting function, maintain the integrity of our financial reporting, and provide leadership with accurate, timely insights that support strategic decision-making. You'll work across direct-to-consumer, wholesale, retail, inventory, licensing, and operations while helping strengthen the financial foundation of the company.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, systems-oriented, and comfortable managing both recurring accounting processes and special projects that support company growth.
What You'll Own Accounting Operations- Own accounts payable and accounts receivable processes from end to end.
- Manage bill entry, approvals, payment runs, vendor onboarding, W-9 collection, and payment tracking.
- Monitor wholesale receivables and collections.
- Maintain accounting records and ensure data accuracy across systems.
- Support process improvements and internal controls as the business scales.
- Process payroll, bonuses, commissions, and employee reimbursements.
- Administer company retirement plans through Ascensus, including:
- Per-pay funding
- Reconciliations
- Annual 5500 filings
- Non-discrimination testing
- Coordinate with external providers to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Lead a timely month-end close process with a target close of five business days.
- Reconcile all bank accounts, credit cards, merchant processors, loans, and financing accounts.
- Record accruals, prepaids, depreciation, and other adjusting entries.
- Reconcile inventory balances and intercompany activity.
- Produce accurate monthly:
- Profit & Loss Statements
- Balance Sheets
- Cash Flow Statements
- Support board reporting and executive financial reviews as needed.
- Maintain a rolling 13-week cash flow forecast.
- Analyze gross margin performance across channels, categories, and products.
- Develop SKU-level profitability reporting for key product lines and strategic programs.
- Provide insights that support inventory planning, pricing decisions, and business performance.
- Manage accounting support for major wholesale partners including REI, Nordstrom, Costco, Dick's Sporting Goods, Scheels, and others.
- Reconcile chargebacks, deductions, returns, and promotional allowances.
- Calculate and process sales representative commissions.
- Support onboarding of new wholesale accounts, including credit applications, EDI setup, and compliance documentation.
- Manage multi-state sales tax compliance
- Prepare annual 1099 reporting.
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation records.
- Track royalty obligations and licensed product agreements.
- Monitor co-op and marketing development fund commitments.
- Maintain a diligence-ready financial data room.
- Serve as the primary accounting liaison for external CPA firms and year-end reviews.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Quick Books Online (QBO Advanced preferred).
- Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, XLOOKUPs, and financial analysis.
- Experience supporting multi-channel businesses across DTC, wholesale, and retail.
- Strong inventory accounting experience within a physical product business.
- Experience managing multi-state sales tax compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to close books accurately and on a tight timeline.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong written communication and process documentation abilities.
- CPA or active CPA candidate.
- Experience with in apparel, outdoor, consumer products, or e-commerce brands.
- Experience supporting businesses in the $20M–$75M revenue range.
- Shopify, Amazon, and marketplace reconciliation experience (A2X or similar tools).
- Experience preparing for lender, investor, private equity, or diligence reviews.
- ERP implementation, migration, or systems integration experience.
- 401(k) administration experience.
- Familiarity with licensed products, royalty accounting, or brand partnerships.
- Assume ownership of AP, AR, payroll, and month-end close.
- Deliver fully reconciled books through the prior reporting period.
- Document standard operating procedures for all recurring accounting processes.
