Remote role based in or near Southwest Washington or Portland, Oregon, with regular travel required for onsite events (branch locations).

: $117,216 - $133,200
Full annual pay range
: $106,560 - $159,840
- Additional $2.00 per hour bilingual differential for employees who can support members in a second language, subject to verification.
- Compensation decisions based on job‑related skills, experience, education, and performance. Incentives are performance‑based and vary by role.
This position is responsible for developing, growing, and managing a portfolio of quality member business loan relationships in support of the credit union’s strategic goals within the Washington and Oregon market areas.
What You’ll Do- Identify and develop new member business loan opportunities through networking and community involvement.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with existing and prospective members and Centers of Influence (COIs).
- Negotiate loan terms within the credit union’s framework and adhere to lending policies, federal and state regulations.
- Maintain knowledge of competitor rates, programs, and terms to strategically present the credit union’s offerings.
- Interview and consult prospective members, reviewing applications, financial documentation, and collaborating with Credit Analysts.
- Conduct loan documentation reviews, periodic annual term loan and risk reviews, and monitor delinquencies.
- Meet monthly loan production and profitability goals, sales activities, and outbound calling targets.
- Manage portfolio credit quality through ongoing oversight.
- Serve as a product knowledge expert and promote the credit union’s products and services.
- Attend required meetings and work‑related events.
- Use assigned equipment appropriately and maintain secure work areas.
- Develop relationships with internal partners and branch personnel.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and complete required documentation.
- Mentor commercial loan officers and other team members.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Regional Director of Commercial Lending.
Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (Full‑time, 40 hours/week).
Qualifications- Minimum of seven (7) years in a high‑volume, production‑oriented commercial lending role or equivalent position.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field.
- Certifications:
Risk Management Association (RMA) Lending Certifications.
- Knowledge of commercial lending guidelines, regulatory procedures, and laws related to member business loans.
- Understanding of federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Experience with investor commercial real estate, C&I lending, and business deposit products.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and adaptability to new technologies.
- Strong networking, relationship management, and consultative selling skills.
- Ability to recommend loan pricing, terms, risk grades, and collateral evaluation.
- Experience preparing written loan approval requests that meet regulatory requirements.
- Analytical skills for assessing borrower financial capacity and risk.
- Entrepreneurial spirit and collaborative teamwork.
- Goal‑setting ability aligned with strategic plans.
- Capacity to generate high volume of new loan originations and deposit growth while managing a sizable portfolio.
- Positive attitude and dedication to member service.
- Willingness to work extended hours as required.
- Knowledge of financial services loan documentation systems (e.g., Laser Pro, LOS systems).
- Direct experience in commercial lending and/or business development within the core market area preferred.
