IntroductionThe purpose of this position is to provide financial leadership to the company. Areas of responsibility encompass the management of day-to-day financial activities and internal controls, the development of timely financial statements, the preparation of a yearly budget, the relationship management of outside vendors including banking relationships. The Controller will oversee the accounting function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory and fixed assets.
This person will be responsible for hiring, training, reviewing and delegating duties as necessary.
In this important role, the individual must always look for ways to improve data collection and reporting efficiency, and to drive process improvements and policy development initiatives that impact the function, thereby providing the best possible data to help the owners and senior managers make educated decisions and set financial strategy and company goals. This position reports to the President.
PrimaryJob Responsibilities Financial Management
- Operations
– Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing and accounts receivable, customer credits and collections, payroll/commissions, purchasing, perpetual inventory integrity, fixed asset record, general and entity accounting. - Financial Reporting
– Develop, improve and issue timely financial records for management and produce quarterly financial statements for outside professional review. Improve data collection and report efficiency and drive process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact function. - Budget
– Coordinate with senior management to prepare and implement operating, staffing and capital budgets on an annual basis. - Internal Controls
– Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls and checks across all departments. - Financial Analysis
– Provide financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures or special projects, programs and cap ex. - Banking Relationship and Outside Firms
– Manage commercial banking relationship to facilitate an appropriate credit resource under competitive terms and interact with outside audit firms, lessors, casualty/liability insurance agents, credit card companies, collection agencies, vendors and legal counsel if needed. - Supervisor Responsibilities
– Carry out supervisory responsibility in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning and directing work, rewarding and disciplining employees, performance reviews and addressing complaints and resolving problems. - Senior Leadership
– Collaborate with the senior leadership team in the overall leadership and operations of the organization. - All other duties as assigned by management.
- Working Capital Improvements
– Produce working capital improvements from efficient management assets and support hospital needs and minimize waste.
Works under the broad general administrative supervision of the President. Exercises wide latitude and uses personal judgment in selecting methods, establishing priorities and arriving iew of work through spot checks, review of records and correspondence, as well as through demonstrated ability to resolve problems independently and handle unusual situations relating to administration, training, logistics and management of the hospital.

- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness. Ability to anticipate work needs and to follow through on assignments with minimal direction.
- Active CPA license is strongly preferred.
- Degree in accounting or similar field and previous supervisory skills required.
- Provides systematic and dependable follow-up, as well as a high level of organization and preparedness.
- Problem solving skills, advanced accounting principles knowledge, and multi-tasking.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation and as a relationship builder.
- Must maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
