Position: Habitat Area Lead (Fish and Wildlife Administrator)

This position is located with Bonneville Power Administration (BPA), this position is in EWM (Idaho/Montana Implementation) unit of the Fish & Wildlife Program (EW), Environment, Fish & Wildlife (E).

A successful candidate will serve as a Habitat Area Lead (Fish and Wildlife Administrator) responsible for performing professional scientific work involved in the implementation or the development of policy to support fish and wildlife protection, mitigation and enhancement.

BASIC REQUIREMENT:

Degree: Biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. -OR-

Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major, or at least 30 semester hours in courses, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. -OR-

Experience: Four years of experience that demonstrated that the applicant acquired knowledge and understanding of one or more of the biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, or related disciplines equivalent to that which would have been acquired through completion of a 4-year course of study as described in A above.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level [GS-12] in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is defined as:
1) Providing biological guidance to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies for fish and wildlife protection, mitigation, and enhancement projects; (2) Utilizing the most current data, such as fish species abundance, distribution, or habitat condition, to prioritize habitat improvement projects; AND (3) Collaborating with multiple stakeholders to achieve the goals of a Fish and Wildlife Program.

"Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and Ameri Corps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

There is no substitution of education for experience at the GS-13 grade level.
