Responsibilities
Branches Portland is welcoming our next DBT Program Therapist. The DBT Program is offered to provide an appropriate program for individuals that may be dealing with personality disorders and/or repeating negative coping skills (i.e. self-harm, suicidal ideation/attempts, and substance use). The goal of the DBT Program is for clients to learn how to better manage extreme emotions and reduce harmful behavior through developing and using healthy coping skills.
The Outpatient DBT Program Therapist is responsible for running a group based program at the PHP and IOP levels of care. Group therapy runs five (5) days per week from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM. In addition to running group therapy sessions, the DBT Program Therapist will manage a caseload of approximately 20 clients over the course of their 6-8 week stay at PHP/IOP.
Responsibilities include:
aftercare planning, crisis intervention, treatment planning and updates, coordination of care, safety planning, and group therapy facilitation. Additional responsibilities include attending treatment team meetings and other duties as assigned.
A successful therapist in this role will have DBT certification, experience running DBT programs and/or DBT Skills Groups, and be comfortable working with a client population that carries personality disorder diagnoses.
Please note that this is not a full-fidelity DBT Program, in that there is no on-call or after hours responsibilities.
Cedar Hills Hospital is a 98-bed behavioral health hospital and outpatient services program that serves adults facing an acute behavioral health crisis related to issues of mental health, substance abuse and substance use disorder, as well as co-occurring disorders related to these circumstances. QualificationsRequirements:
- Education:
Masters Degree in social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, psychology, or equivalent required. - Licensure:
Preferred, not required. DBT Certification required (within first 3 months of hire). - Experience:
1+ years preferred.
