By engaging with and representing the immigrant and refugee population, AYCO addresses family needs and key social determinants of health, working to reduce disparities and support thriving, inclusive communities.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Behavioral Health Specialist located in the Portland, Oregon Metropolitan Area. The Behavioral Health Specialist will work with individuals and families from immigrant and refugee communities to provide mental health support, develop case management strategies, and connect clients to necessary resources. Additional responsibilities include conducting client assessments, developing and implementing individualized care plans, providing emotional support, and maintaining accurate records and documentation.

Qualifications
  • Experience and skills in Social Work, Case Management, and addressing client needs through holistic approaches.
  • Strong knowledge of Psychology and Mental Health principles, with the ability to provide behavioral support and interventions.
  • Excellent Communication skills, including the ability to effectively connect with clients, families, and community organizations.
  • Cultural competence and sensitivity working with diverse populations, particularly immigrant and refugee communities.
  • Relevant certifications or a degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with local social service networks and resources within the Portland Metro Area is beneficial.
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities are an asset.
