Job Description & How to Apply Below

Central City Concern is an innovative nonprofit agency providing comprehensive services to single adults and families in the Portland metro area who are impacted by homelessness, poverty and addictions. We hire people that are skilled and passionate to meet our mission to end homelessness through outcome-based strategies which support personal and community transformation.

The 16 x Burnside Recovery Center is a state‑of‑the‑art facility designed to meet a critical need in our community: providing extended residential treatment for individuals transitioning out of Hooper Detoxification and Stabilization Center. This is where hope becomes healing, and we’re inviting passionate professionals like YOU to be part of this life‑changing mission.

The Burnside Recovery Center offers 3.7 Level‑of‑Care services, focusing on stabilization and support for clients with substance‑use disorders as their primary diagnosis, along with co‑occurring mental‑health conditions. Our integrated, person‑centered care model meets clients and their families where they are, combining therapy, mental‑health services, medical care, and community‑based management into one coordinated pathway to recovery. With expedited access to primary care, outpatient substance‑use disorder services, and recovery‑supportive housing, our holistic approach empowers clients to achieve long‑term success.

This position will work as a member of a multi‑disciplinary team to deliver comprehensive, person‑centered, integrated services to the community. The Medical Assistant (MA) plays a critical role in patient care. MAs work to support providers and clients throughout the process and are also integral members of the treatment team. MAs provide patient‑centered care and work closely with all medical and clinical staff.

MAs also work with client access specialists and non‑clinical staff to ensure the workflow is efficient and the client experience is positive. Additionally, this role includes interaction with clients during medication pass times, offers general assistance with medication self‑administration, supports medical issues or concerns, as a key member of the integrated treatment team. This position has access to mental‑health billing and service records.

Schedule: Shifts may be offered from Sunday – Saturday, daytime hours.

Location: 16th and Burnside Recovery Center (1616

E. Burnside St. Portland, OR 97214).

Compensation: $23.43 per hour for non‑certified and $27.40 per hour for certified.
