The RoleYou will be a member of the Cybersecurity & Compliance Team and will build a requirements-driven threat intelligence practice that supports physical and cyber security capabilities across NW Natural Holdings. You will understand how security requires people, process and technology working together. This position is a key role in an organization undergoing transformation and growth. The role reports to the Cybersecurity & Compliance Director and is based in downtown Portland.
Dayto Day
Program Development
- Build a requirements-driven, proactive threat intelligence practice that provides diverse stakeholders with robust situational awareness.
- Gather, update, and prioritize threat intelligence requirements.
- Formalize the cadence and format of threat intelligence briefings and deliverables.
- Gather and maintain metrics.
- Manage relationships with key vendors.
- Liaise with peer utilities, government agencies, and law enforcement. Represent NW Natural at industry information-sharing groups.
Security Consulting
- Serve as a trusted advisor on the physical and cyber threat landscape during mergers and acquisitions.
- Support attack surface assessments of current businesses and new acquisitions.
- Serve on the incident command team and respond to periodic after-hours escalations and incidents.
- Respond to internal and external Requests for Information (RFIs).
Threat Response
- Investigate potential threats for impact and likelihood.
- Support field worker safety through assessment and management of threat information.
This position is the primary threat intelligence partner across NW Natural departments and subsidiaries. A relationship-driven approach will be key to success. The ability to manage expectations while explaining complex topics in plain language will build trust with stakeholders.
- 3 or more years of relevant experience in threat intelligence, investigations, information security or physical security. Additional years of experience required for level 3.
- Physical threat intelligence experience is preferred.
- Advanced experience required for level 3 including managing more complex tasks, broader responsibilities, and increased autonomy in decision-making or leading initiatives.
- A strong understanding of cyber and physical threat landscapes for critical infrastructure.
- 1+ years of relevant experience in mergers and acquisitions preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across business units and with external stakeholders
- Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity
- Experience briefing executive leadership teams preferred
- Experience in a regulated industry (energy, utilities, infrastructure) preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in Intelligence Studies, Criminal Justice, Political Science, International Relations, or similar, preferred
- Ability to pass government background checks required
