Senior AI Security Engineer

The Senior AI (Artificial Intelligence) Security Engineer will play a crucial role in safeguarding eBay’s AI projects against emerging threats.

We are looking for highly skilled and motivated individual that will stay up to date with the latest in AI and cybersecurity developments, advising our information security team and internal teams on potential risks, and contributing to the development of secure eBay AI systems. Additionally, this position is expected to assist in education around AI Security best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct AI Security Assessments:
  Perform regular security assessments that can include threat modeling and Arch/design reviews of AI systems and applications that can be in-house developed and from third parties.

• Research and Analysis:
  Lead innovative research projects aimed at enhancing the security of machine learning models. This includes identifying vulnerabilities, developing defenses against adversarial attacks, and ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of model data. Analyze potential impacts on our AI projects and infrastructure.

• Security Advising:
  Serve as an authority on AI security, advising the information security team, developers, and project managers on standard processes and security measures.

• Responsible AI (RAI):
  Contribute to RAI projects, such as helping conduct AI Red Teaming of developed AI solutions, focused on assessing for security issues but also raising issues that do not align to our AI Principles.

• Collaboration:
  
  Work closely with other groups, such as RAI, legal, privacy, and product teams, to ensure a comprehensive security posture for all AI initiatives.

• Education and Training:
  Develop and deliver training sessions for internal teams on AI security concepts, tools, and practices. Promote a culture of security awareness across the company. Be a mentor for those who wish to learn and participate in AI related research and projects.

What you will bring:

• Minimum of 5 years in cybersecurity role.

• 2 to 3 Years of AI Security experience would be preferred but not essential.

• Solid understanding of AI technologies and their security implications.

• Proficient in programming languages such as Python or Java.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving mentality.

• Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to non-technical partners.

• Continuous learner with a passion for staying ahead of security trends and technologies.

• Familiarity with Cloud and Networking technologies would be a plus.

• Knowledge regarding Data Regulatory Requirements would be a plus.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.

$168,400 - $262,900

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience.
