Overview
IAM Security Architect – Hybrid (In office 3 days/week) located in Oregon, Washington, Idaho or Utah. Lead the evolution of identity solutions across the enterprise, covering workforce IAM and customer IAM, and build modern, high‑trust identity experiences using adaptive MFA, passwordless authentication, SAML, Web Authn, and OIDC.
Responsibilities- Develop and apply reference architectures, patterns, and implementations to technology solutions, documenting all work with industry‑standard tools.
- Set technical and product strategies by interpreting industry trends, anticipating market opportunities, and aligning current activities with future direction across the organization.
- Provide technical security leadership organization‑wide and serve as a key resource on security matters, shaping security architecture solutions and services.
- Estimate and manage project resources accurately, auditing project status to ensure technical and process excellence throughout execution.
- Partner strategically with internal and external stakeholders, including industry leaders and customers, to develop business strategies that anticipate and influence industry trends.
- Translate business feedback into technical direction, aligning individual project roles and overseeing solution design based on project requirements and architectural patterns.
- Oversee product development processes by teaming with management to integrate business direction with technical strategies and execution.
- Drive thought leadership by utilizing industry intelligence, shaping initiatives and standards, and conducting presentations at customer, industry, and media events.
- Champion process improvement by challenging and refining IT processes and leading architecture practices to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Facilitate organizational adaptation in response to company and industry changes while continuously developing personal technical skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
- Ten years total IT experience, including at least two years in information security and two years of technical leadership/architecture experience.
- Minimum five years of experience evaluating business requirements and designing complete system solutions in complex environments.
- Strong business understanding, including health insurance technologies and regulations.
- Experience in the health insurance industry, payer‑oriented processes, or equivalent education and experience.
- Demonstrated architecture experience in information security.
- Subject‑matter expertise in security technology domains and their relation to overall technology infrastructure.
- Ability to resolve highly complex, large‑scale or systems‑level problems efficiently.
- Strong verbal, written, and persuasive communication skills to influence individuals and groups.
- Proficiency in audio/visual tools and presenting technical information to diverse audiences.
- Ability to influence and lead project direction and collaborate with peers to implement ideas and concepts.
- Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST CSF, HITRUST, and ISO 27001.
- Experience with AI tools and technologies to enhance productivity and decision‑making (highly desired).
Expected hiring range: $140,000 – $175,000 per year, depending on skills, experience, education, and training; relevant licensure or certifications; and performance history. Bonus target: 15%. Current full salary range: $140,000 – $228,000 per year.
