This is a full-time, on-site Copier Technician role based in the Portland, Oregon Metropolitan Area. The Copier Technician will install, configure, and maintain multifunction copiers and printers at client locations, ensuring devices operate reliably and efficiently. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing hardware and connectivity issues, performing preventative maintenance, updating firmware, and managing parts replacement. The role also involves training end users on basic equipment operation, documenting service activities, and communicating clearly with clients and internal teams regarding service status and follow-up needs.
The technician will adhere to safety, quality, and data security standards while supporting a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Hands‑on technical skills in installing, configuring, and repairing copiers, printers, and related imaging equipment.
- Basic networking and connectivity knowledge (e.g., TCP/IP, print drivers, device configuration on local networks).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities, including systematic diagnosis of mechanical and electronic issues.
- Effective customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues in clear, practical terms.
- Organizational and time-management skills for managing service tickets, scheduling visits, and documenting work accurately.
- Ability to work independently in the field, travel within the Portland, Oregon Metropolitan Area, and lift/move equipment as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training, certifications (e.g., manufacturer certifications, CompTIA A+), or vocational coursework in electronics or IT are preferred.
- Prior experience as a copier, printer, or field service technician, especially in office technology or managed print environments, is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company and insurance requirements.
