Job Summary

The Audio Visual Specialist is a key position for the University's Audio Visual (AV) Services Team as the position performs core duties related to customer support as it pertains to the selection, scheduling, delivery, setup, operation, and maintenance of AV equipment. This position reports to the AV Services Manager.

Core Duties

* Consult with customers to identify AV equipment and related technology needs for classes and events.

* Schedule, deliver, set up, break down, and return AV equipment with the ability to transport equipment and materials across campus using motorized University carts and vehicles.

* Operate AV equipment during events, including some events on weekends and evenings.

* Assist customers with recording, streaming, editing, and sharing audio and video.

* Proactively identify potential issues and recommend solutions to specific problems.

* Provide Audio Visual Services related trainings to UP community members.

* Help create and upkeep instructions, trainings, policies, and related materials.

* Respond to customer inquiries, requests, and service tickets.

* Participate in the Audio Visual Services team's rotation of on-call responsibilities and respond to after-hours calls.

* Help administer Audio Visual Services team processes, including processes related to equipment scheduling software and effective workflow and escalation of service tickets.

Other duties as relevant to the duties of the position or as assigned by supervisor or designee.

Education & Experience

* Required:

Two years of proven relevant professional experience.

* Required:

Associate's degree in relevant field.

* Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in relevant field.

* Or a combination of equivalent education and/or experience.

* None.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

* Proficiency with computers, technology devices, software, and applications at level of proficiency appropriate for the position's duties. Ability to learn and use new technologies, software, and applications at level of proficiency appropriate for the position's duties.

* Ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment

* Strong organizational and time management skills

* Strong attention to detail and accuracy

* Ability to consistently handle and follow through with multiple projects, tasks, and business processes while meeting deadlines

* Knowledge of FERPA and Title IX policies or ability to be trained in such policies.

* Effective ability to use and learn computers, technology, software, and applications at level of sophistication required for the duties of the position, including, without limitation, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), the internet, and computerized maintenance management systems.

Physical Requirements

* Frequently: sit, perform desk-based computer tasks; use fine manipulation and grasp; use a telephone, write by hand; sort and file paperwork.

* Occasionally: stand and walk; twist; lift, carry, push and pull objects (computer and related equipment) that can weigh 50 pounds, with or without assistance.

* Occasionally: ability to attend events and activities on or off campus.
