Job Description & How to Apply Below

About the Role

Dennis 7 Dees has been growing people, plants, and places in the Pacific Northwest since 1956 — and we are ready to make our business systems as strong as the work we deliver. We are looking for a Technology & Systems Manager who is equally comfortable thinking strategically and rolling up their sleeves to get it done. This is a department of one.

You will not hand off ideas for someone else to implement —you will own them from concept to completion. You will analyze how we operate, identify where technology can work harder, and lead improvements across our retail garden centers and landscaping operations. You will evaluate our tools for waste and overlap, connect systems that should be talking to each other, find opportunities where AI can make a real difference, and help leadership think clearly about technology as we continue to grow.

One day you are in a Director meeting presenting a technology roadmap. The next you are building the automation that makes it real. If that sounds like the kind of work you love, we want to hear from you.

What You Will Do Systems Ownership & Integration
  • Be the single owner of how our business systems are structured, connected, andmaintainedacross the organization.
  • Manage vendor relationships, system updates, and platform migrations to keep our technology current and aligned with business needs.
Business Process & Workflow Optimization
  • Drive continuous improvement across departments —identifyinginefficiencies, automating manual work, and raising the standard for how weoperate.
  • Evaluate and implement AI tools that create meaningful improvements in how the business runs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with department leads and leadership to translate business needs into technology solutions and actionable plans.
  • Serve as the strategic advisor to the Director team on technology investments and how systems need to evolve as we grow.
Project Management
  • Own business system projects end-to-end:scope, timelines, budgets, testing, and rollout.
  • Set adoption standards, track usage across departments, and hold teams accountable for using our tools effectively.
Reporting & Systems Administration
  • Develop reporting and dashboards that give leadership the visibility needed to make informed decisions.
  • Maintain system configurations, documentation libraries, and ensure solutions meet security and technical standards.
Training & Documentation
  • Own staff training, onboarding, SOPs, and documentation so every team member can confidently use the tools they depend on.

Additionalresponsibilitieswill be addedas the role and the business evolve.

What We Are Looking For Required Experience
  • 3–5 years in an operations and technology role.
  • Advanced, daily user of AI tools in a professional business setting.
  • Proven ability to connect systems, automate workflows, and implement technology-driven process improvements.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Communicates clearly at every level — technical with vendors and developers, plain and direct with staff and leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in retail, landscaping, field services, or a multi-location business.
  • Background in strategic planning, vendor management, or business operations.
  • Relevant technology, automation, or process improvement certifications.
Wage Compensation & Benefits
  • $75,000–$95,000, depending on experience
  • Paid time off
  • Comprehensive and affordable health insurance: medical, dental, vision, mental health, and alternative medicine
  • 401k with generous company match
  • 40% employee discount on all plants and retail merchandise
  • Partner discounts and employee store passes at Danner, Carhartt, Duluth Trading, Adidas, and Columbia.
  • Tuition reimbursement for ongoing education
  • Opportunities for professional growth and advancement within the company
