Overview
Columbia Sportswear Company is seeking a Senior Performance Test Engineer in Portland, OR for a hybrid role. The position will lead performance testing initiatives, including planning, developing and executing performance and stress tests to measure end‑to‑end performance, identify and resolve bottlenecks, and integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze test results and collaborate with development teams on optimizations.
- Mentor junior engineers.
- Design integration between Quality Automation, Development, and Operations (Dev Ops) processes.
- Define performance goals and ensure tests are integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
- Work with internal teams and vendors to set up cloud and on‑premise hosted performance environments.
- Solve complex problems and develop creative solutions using relational databases, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), architecture, web services (REST, SOAP, WCF), JSON, XML, JavaScript, VB, Java, Power Shell.
- Contribute to the enhancement of performance testing framework and methodologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or related field (foreign equivalent) and 60 months of experience in a similar role.
- Experience designing and building performance testing solutions.
- Proficiency with performance testing tools such as Cloud Test, Load Runner, JMeter, K6.
- Strong programming skills in scripting languages: C, JavaScript, VB, Python.
- Proficiency with monitoring tools such as Grafana and Dynatrace.
- Working knowledge of retail and e‑commerce platforms:
Dynamics 365 and Salesforce Commerce Cloud. - Experience in data and log analysis using KQL and SQL.
- Working knowledge of Azure services such as Service Bus, Cosmos DB, App Insights.
- Strong understanding of system architecture, networks, and operating systems.
- Good understanding of source control:
Git Hub and Bitbucket. - Experience with defect analysis, reporting and tracking using HP ALM or JIRA.
