Join the Oregon Symphony Team as our Director of Information Technology!

As our Director of Information Technology, you will serve as the Oregon Symphony's senior technology leader, helping shape the systems, infrastructure, and technology strategy that power every aspect of our organization. From cybersecurity and cloud infrastructure to end-user support and emerging AI technologies, your leadership will ensure our staff have the tools, security, and support they need to advance our mission.

Here's how you'll make a difference:

  • Develop and execute the Symphony's technology strategy, ensuring our systems, infrastructure, and technology investments support organizational goals and long-term success.
  • Oversee all aspects of the organization's IT environment, including networks, cloud platforms, hardware, software, endpoint devices, and core business systems.
  • Provide responsive technical support to staff across all departments, serving as the primary resource for day-to-day technology needs.
  • Lead technology upgrades, migrations, and system integrations while minimizing disruption to operations.
  • Administer core systems including Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, identity and access management, file storage, and collaboration tools.
  • Support employee onboarding and offboarding through account administration, equipment provisioning, and access management.
  • Lead the Symphony's cybersecurity program, including security awareness, incident response, disaster recovery planning, and data governance.
  • Develop organizational guidance for the secure and responsible use of AI and other emerging technologies while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency through innovation.
  • Manage relationships with technology vendors, consultants, and service providers, ensuring strong performance and cost-effective solutions.
  • Lead technology projects from planning through implementation while maintaining system documentation, software licensing, and technology asset inventories.
  • Support audiovisual, teleconferencing, and hybrid meeting technologies that help connect our staff, artists, and community.

This role is pivotal in ensuring the Symphony's technology is secure, reliable, and positioned to support both today's operations and tomorrow's opportunities. If you're excited to combine strategic thinking with hands-on technical leadership in a collaborative, mission-driven organization, we'd love to have you on the team.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Seven to ten years of progressively responsible IT experience, including serving as the primary or sole IT resource in a small to mid-sized organization.
  • Demonstrated experience developing IT strategy, managing infrastructure, implementing cybersecurity best practices, and supporting organizational technology governance.
  • Proven ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on technical execution.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, networking, cloud technologies, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Experience managing technology vendors, contracts, and IT projects from planning through implementation.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience supporting audiovisual systems or event-based technology environments is preferred.
We Offer
  • A chance to be part of a respected and mission-driven organization.
  • A collaborative, team-oriented environment where your expertise directly supports the Symphony's artistic and operational success.
  • An opportunity to shape the future of technology at one of the nation's leading orchestras.
