Simulation Operations Specialist
Linfield University's School of Nursing is seeking a collaborative, innovative, and technically skilled Simulation Operations Specialist to join our Experiential Learning Center (ELC). This position plays an essential role in preparing future nurses by creating realistic, technology-enhanced simulation experiences that support hands-on learning and clinical excellence.
Working closely with the ELC Manager, Director of Simulation, faculty, and staff, the Simulation Operations Specialist combines technical expertise, educational technology, audiovisual systems, and operational coordination to ensure the successful delivery of simulation-based learning experiences. As the Simulation Operations Specialist, you will support the daily operations of the Experiential Learning Center while advancing the use of innovative simulation technologies throughout the nursing curriculum.
Simulation Operations & Administration- Coordinate simulation schedules and collaborate with faculty to plan simulation experiences.
- Manage simulation supplies, equipment, inventory, and maintenance.
- Maintain databases for simulation scenarios, equipment needs, setup requirements, and instructional resources.
- Assist with budgeting priorities for simulation technology and equipment.
- Coordinate and supervise student employees supporting ELC operations.
- Prepare simulation environments, including manikins, medical equipment, simulated medications, props, and audiovisual systems.
- Operate cameras, recording systems, and control room technology during simulations and debriefings.
- Troubleshoot simulation software, computer systems, audiovisual equipment, and manikin technology.
- Assist faculty, simulation users, and standardized patients before and during simulation activities.
- Support rapid room and equipment transitions between simulation scenarios.
- Participate in simulation debriefings by providing technical expertise and operational observations.
- Install, maintain, and optimize simulation equipment and technology.
- Recommend and assist with implementation of new technologies and equipment upgrades.
- Produce and edit instructional and promotional simulation videos.
- Develop and deliver training for faculty and staff on simulation technology, equipment operation, and troubleshooting.
- Assist with grant development and projects that enhance simulation education.
- Collaborate on website updates, promotional materials, and online resources.
- Participate in student recruitment events and campus visits.
- Represent Linfield University at regional and national simulation conferences and professional organizations.
- Contribute to ongoing program evaluation, research, and continuous improvement initiatives.
