Senior Data Architect

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of work involving planning, development, implementation, and administration of systems for the acquisition, storage, and retrieval of data.
• Apply and adapt new and improved approaches to the design, development, and implementation of data mining, data warehousing, and related data storage and retrieval systems.
• Develop guidelines for the application of data modeling practices to the development of data management applications.
• Diagnose and resolve the most complex data management problems and issues.
• Develop logical data models to be translated into workable physical database schema and structures in the database development process. Select modeling methodologies and tools. Generate models that are capable of accommodating new and unanticipated business requirements and processes. Verify model integrity. Maintain and revise existing models.
• Perform a variety of work involving the design, documentation, development, modification, testing, installation, implementation, and support of new or existing applications software.
• Lead a multi-functional development project in software analysis, design, development, and implementation for a new system or major enhancement to an existing system. Draft project plans and identify resource requirements. Ensure customer and management involvement throughout the software development process. Resolve critical issues affecting the configuration of the IT infrastructure. Coordinate the demonstration of new and enhanced applications to customers and management.
• Ensure applications are optimized for state‑of‑the‑art technology and functionality.
• Lead the applications development process to identify and correct weaknesses in critical performance parameters and variances in achieving cost, schedule, and performance goals.

BASIC REQUIREMENT: Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.
