Summary

The Procurement Specialist I at Pacific Seafood is a key role on our SPECS team supporting efforts to optimize indirect procurement operations, manage supplier relationships, control inventory, and drive cost savings across the organization. This position involves strategic sourcing, vendor management, inventory forecasting, contract support, and enterprise procurement initiatives and is ideal for someone who is analytical, collaborative, detail‑oriented, and committed to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Sourcing & Procurement:
    • Develop and implement strategic sourcing and procurement initiatives.
    • Support vendor negotiations and sourcing activities in partnership with SPECS leadership.
    • Develop in-depth knowledge of suppliers, market conditions, and cost structures.
    • Facilitate sourcing of new products, packaging, supplies, equipment, and services based on business needs.
    • Support contract administration, renewal tracking, and vendor compliance activities.
    • Manage vendor execution and monitor program effectiveness.
    • Maintain strong supplier relationships and resolve vendor performance issues.
    • Collaborate with suppliers to improve service levels and supply continuity.
    • Ensure business communications are conducted professionally and effectively.
    • Manage inventory forecasting and replenishment for packaging, supplies, and service categories.
    • Monitor inventory levels and prevent shortages, outages, and excess inventory.
    • Coordinate initiatives related to aged inventory management and waste reduction.
    • Support supply continuity planning and risk mitigation efforts.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with branch and division leadership.
    • Support enterprise procurement initiatives and operational adoption.
    • Provide product, packaging, and compliance information to internal stakeholders.
    • Coordinate process improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency.
    • Ensure project requirements are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as deemed necessary to support the overall goals and objectives of the position.
Required
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience and training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
Preferred
  • 5 years of relevant experience and training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
