Role Description

This is a full‑time, on‑site Freight Broker role based in Portland, OR. The Freight Broker will source and secure carriers, negotiate rates, and manage freight movements from pickup through delivery. Daily responsibilities include building and maintaining relationships with shippers and carriers, monitoring loads, resolving service issues, and providing proactive updates to customers.

The role also includes coordinating with dispatch, managing load documentation, and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations. The Freight Broker will collaborate closely with internal teams to meet performance targets and support business growth.

Qualifications
  • Strong freight brokerage skills, with experience matching shippers and carriers and negotiating competitive rates.
  • Proficient in customer service and account management, including maintaining long‑term client relationships and handling inquiries professionally.
  • Experience with dispatching, coordinating loads, tracking shipments, and resolving on‑road issues.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, on‑site office environment and make timely, data‑informed decisions.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) and basic MS Office or similar tools.
  • Prior experience in logistics, transportation, or a related field is preferred; relevant certifications are a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business, logistics, or supply chain is beneficial.
