Market Advanced Manufacturing

At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.

Your Impact

The Pre-Construction Coordinator supports project readiness activities upstream of construction execution and serves as the bridge between design, planning, logistics, project management, and field execution. The primary objective of this role is to identify and resolve constraints before construction begins, ensuring projects are fully prepared for successful execution and handoff to the Construction Coordinator.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of construction projects during the pre-construction phase.
  • Evaluate project readiness and identify schedule, design, material, logistics, or operational constraints prior to field execution.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities between Engineering, Design, Project Management, Procurement, Logistics, and Construction teams.
  • Facilitate structured project handoffs from planning into construction execution.
  • Track project milestones, deliverables, critical path activities, and schedule impacts.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reporting tools, and metrics to communicate project status, readiness, and constraints.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and help standardize planning and readiness workflows across the program.
  • Drive action items to closure while maintaining clear communication with internal and client stakeholders.
  • Support pull planning activities, schedule coordination, and overall project readiness planning.

This role is intended to strengthen front-end planning, improve communication between project stakeholders, and proactively resolve issues before they impact field execution, ultimately enabling Construction Coordinators to focus on safely and efficiently delivering work in the field.

Here's what you'll need

  • a Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline, Construction Management, Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required
  • Experience with Power BI is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Excel VBA, Power Query, Power Automate, and other business intelligence or automation tools would be considered a significant advantage.

Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical, organizational, and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to evaluate large datasets, identify project risks and constraints, prioritize competing tasks, and drive issues to resolution. Experience supporting semiconductor construction, industrial construction, manufacturing, or large capital projects is highly desirable.

Strong communication, customer service, and stakeholder management skills are essential, as this position regularly interfaces with clients, project managers, design teams, suppliers, logistics personnel, construction coordinators, and field leadership.
