Responsibilities- Perform calibration and preventive maintenance (PM) on basic industrial weighing equipment (e.g., floor and bench scales) independently.
- Assist others on installations, projects, and/or repairs as necessary.
- Perform basic end‑user training.
- Carry out calibrations and preventive maintenance duties according to METTLER‑TOLEDO procedures and customer requirements.
- Cooperate with the Scheduling Analyst and Service Support Team as needed.
- Ensure the company vehicle is serviced and maintained according to fleet requirements and policies.
- Proactively promote and sell service and products; submit sales leads at a level commensurate with experience.
- Maintain compliance with all company and customer safety and quality policies and procedures.
- Work to ensure customer uptime requirements are met and that all work assignments are completed on time.
- Accurately complete and submit all required paperwork on a daily basis using the company‑issued laptop PC in a professional manner.
- Maintain a close professional relationship with external/internal customers, sales, technicians, and other leaders.
- Complete Kronos time‑keeping daily and ensure punches are entered for each activity as they occur.
- Foster an atmosphere of collaboration and teamwork with field and service support colleagues.
- Comply with the Company Fleet policy.
- Accurately submit Weights & Measures paperwork to the state or county in a timely manner.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED or 5 years of relevant experience and an aptitude in Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation, Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent education and experience in a technical support role, technical troubleshooting, or technical installation of electronics or electromechanical technology.
- Associate’s degree (AA) with a technical major or equivalent from a two‑year college is preferred.
- Customer‑facing or field‑service experience preferred; commercial experience desired.
- Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical repair philosophies, including basic understanding of PC networking & software configuration.
- One to three years of electro/mechanical repair or weighing industry experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a CDL and Weights and Measures license in the service area; failure to obtain or lose either license could result in termination.
- Demonstrated skill in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to learn proprietary software and review and update information using METTLER‑TOLEDO programs.
- Willingness to travel overnight (up to 10% on average, possibly up to 25%); primarily via company‑assigned vehicle, but may require air travel.
- Residence within the service territory.
- Willingness to work overtime (10–15% on average, possibly up to 25%).
- Willingness to be exposed to hazards including chemicals, solvents, vehicle traffic, machinery, dust, cold environments, and fumes.
- Willingness to wear special protective equipment and clothing when required.
- This position is safety‑sensitive and is subject to drug testing and DOT physical exams.
- Physical requirements include the ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally handle heavy loads; frequent movements such as crouching, stooping, kneeling, and bending are required.
