Field/Service Technician, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Raymond West is looking for a dynamic ASRS Technician to join our team! The ASRS Tech - Field Service (Automation Storage & Retrieval) is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of the Storage & Retrieval Systems as well as equipment at customer sites. This role requires strong mechanical and electrical skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to travel to customer locations to support service and maintenance of customer equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities- Performs testing and repair of new and used Automation Storage & Retrieval systems including but not limited to performing maintenance on Conveyors, Vertical Lift Modules/Kardex/ Automation Storage and Retrieval Systems, Automation and Robotics
- Repair and maintain Automation Storage & Retrieval Systems
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on Automation equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users on proper operation and maintenance of Automation Storage & Retrieval systems
- Update training and skills on a continuing basis.
- Maintain accurate service records, reports, and documentation.
- Communicate with assigned Supervisor.
- Communicate all options to customers before proceeding with work.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures during all service activities.
- Travel to customer sites as required, sometimes on short notice
- Have the necessary tools to perform repair and scheduled service work.
- Complete jobs within quoted time limits when applicable.
- Maintain a clean and orderly (inside and outside) vehicle.
- Represent the company favorably in all situations.
- Pass all available certifications appropriate to the position.
- Maintain good working knowledge of customers and equipment in assigned areas.
- Report all accidents promptly, regardless of fault.
- Account for 100% of available time during working hours.
- Must be willing to work overtime when necessary.
- Coordinate all overtime with assigned supervisor.
- Must follow all procedures in the company’s Employee Handbook.
- Must follow safety procedures and use good judgment regarding safety.
- Establish a positive rapport with customers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent Organizational Time Management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft office Suite and similar software
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
- Must be able to maintain effective working relationships with employees, Co‑Workers, and Managers in other departments
- Must be willing to work off‑hours as specific needs dictate and willing to assume more responsibility as required
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Possess knowledge of, and have experience with, PLC hardware, controls in an industrial setting.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively.
- Be able to perform mechanical and electrical repairs on a variety of equipment.
- Be able to follow established maintenance procedures for a variety of equipment.
- Possess working knowledge of AC and DC motors and general operation and maintenance of machine equipment.
- Able to schedule service appointments and adapt to unexpected changes as necessary.
- Willing and able to learn quickly and perform accurately and neatly with a degree of flexibility.
- Must be able to present a mature, professional appearance
- Must possess a current, valid, unrestricted driver's license with no more than an allowable number of points on record.
- Basic knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP integration.
