Hopewell House is seeking an exceptional Executive Director to lead its 12-bed residential hospice home in Oregon, focusing on stability and sustainability. A seasoned, compassionate leader will steward a history of dignity, comfort, and end-of-life care.

About Hopewell House

Founded over 35 years ago and reopened as a nonprofit residential care facility in 2023, Hopewell House provides refuge, dignity, and support at the end of life. The organization serves residents in a 12-bed hospice home and values: compassion, humility, respect, mindfulness, and hope.

The Opportunity

The Executive Director is the chief executive and operational leader, overseeing day-to-day operations while advancing long-term sustainability and impact. This role blends hands-on operational leadership with strategic vision, financial stewardship, philanthropy, and community engagement. The successful candidate will ensure regulatory compliance and high-quality resident care, lead an interdisciplinary team of 40 staff and 150 volunteers, partner with the Board, and cultivate resources for mission sustainability.

  • Providing executive leadership to advance the mission, values, and strategic priorities; foster a healthy culture grounded in trust, accountability, equity, and collaboration.
  • Serving as administrator of record and operational steward of the home, ensuring safe, compliant operation.
  • Overseeing financial health, sustainability, and revenue generation; stewarding an approximately $2.5 million operating budget.
  • Serving as primary ambassador and public face; enhancing visibility and reputation through community engagement.
  • Collaborating with the Board to set strategic priorities and ensure governance compliance.
Who We’re Looking For

We seek a thoughtful, emotionally intelligent leader with strong operational and financial acumen and a deep capacity for empathy. The ideal candidate has experience leading complex organizations, comfortable navigating regulated environments, and a commitment to compassionate end-of-life care.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (healthcare, social sciences, or related field preferred) with five years of senior management experience in health services, community-based care, or related areas.
  • Strong facility and operational management skills with attention to detail.
  • Sound financial and business judgment.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Active Residential Care Facility (RCF) Administrator License, or ability to obtain within 60 days.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in healthcare, social services, or nursing.
  • Leadership experience in community-based care, ideally end-of-life care.
  • Knowledge of the local hospice and healthcare landscape.
  • Familiarity with highly regulated healthcare environments; preference for CBC facilities.
  • Demonstrated passion for compassionate end-of-life care.
  • Experience with crisis management and complex operational challenges.
