Location:
Portland, OR ( Hybrid preferred, Remote optional)
Duration: 12-month Contract (with possible extensions up to 5 years)
Pay Range: $68.28 – $71.51 per hour
OverviewThe Project Manager plans, executes, and finalizes projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager will also define project objectives & oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.
Position Responsibilities- Direct & manage project development from beginning to end, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.
- Define project scope, goals & deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
- Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
- Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
- Estimate resources & participants needed to achieve project goals.
- Set & continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
- Identify & resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
- Identify & manage project dependencies and critical path.
- Plan & schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
- Track project milestones & deliverables.
- Develop & deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
- Determine frequency & content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
- Define project success criteria & disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
- Coach, mentor, & motivate project team members to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
- Build, develop, & grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
- Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
- Develop best practices & tools for project execution and management.
Education & Corresponding Experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
- With bachelor’s degree, 10 years of direct work experience is required.
- With a bachelor’s degree not in applicable fields, 12 years of direct work experience is required.
- Without a degree, 14 years of direct work experience is required.
- Experience must include direct work experience in a Finance or an Information Technology project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution, including strong familiarity with project management software.
Required Technical Skills & Experience
- 10 years of demonstrated project management experience, to include:
- Fundamental operation, function, and workflow of a project management system regarding timelines, dependencies, deliverables, milestones, and resources.
- Use of industry standard methods and tools for managing schedules, dependencies, resources, funding and development of technical specifications and project plans.
- Coordinating or running multiple projects simultaneously.
- Working knowledge of System Life Cycle (SLC) principles.
- Demonstrated experience with Visio flowcharts.
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Project
Preferred Technical Skills & Experience
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Experience in a utility, government, or finance organization.
- Demonstrated experience planning and leading organizational change management activities.
- Demonstrated experience to facilitate requirements development or business process mapping.
