We are passionate about our work and driven to build quality buildings that stand the test of time. With fulfillment as one of our six core values, Lewis has a collaborative and supportive culture committed to the success and development of our people.

About the Position:

The DCAT Safety Director provides enterprise-level leadership, technical expertise, and strategic oversight to advance the Company's aspirational goal of zero incidents and injuries across all projects. This role is accountable for the development, execution, and continuous improvement of safety programs, systems, and practices that support high-risk, mission-critical construction operations.

The Director serves as a strategic partner to Project Superintendents and Foremen, acting as the primary internal client interface, and ensures each project develops, implements, and sustains an effective Site-Specific Safety Plan (SSSP). The role maintains and evolves the Company's Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) program, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and client expectations.

This position establishes clear standards for safety information management, ensuring data, tools, and resources are well organized, accessible, and actionable for field and operations teams. The Director ensures all injuries, near-misses, and significant safety events are promptly and thoroughly investigated, with corrective actions implemented to prevent recurrence.

The Director minimizes the impact of workplace injuries on employees and the Company by overseeing injury response and recovery strategies, including coordination of first response, partnerships with occupational medicine and triage providers, and the administration of light-duty and return-to-work programs.

As the senior leader of the Safety Department, the Director is responsible for talent strategy and people leadership, including recruitment, development, performance management, compensation planning, succession planning, and staffing deployment. This role serves as a strong advocate for the safety organization and its integration with operations.

The Director collaborates closely with Safety Leaders across other Lewis operating divisions to ensure consistency in safety culture, policies, standards, and processes across the enterprise.

Additional Expectations-DCAT:

The Safety Director provides strategic leadership, specialized technical oversight, and program governance for all safety operations within DCAT, including mission-critical data centers, semiconductor facilities, advanced manufacturing, and other high-hazard technology environments.

This role ensures consistent implementation of the Company's EH&S program while adapting to the unique operational, regulatory, and risk profiles of data center and advanced industrial construction. The Director drives safety performance through close partnership with DCAT operations leadership, policy development, data analytics, continuous improvement initiatives, and visible servant leadership, ensuring all projects meet or exceed Company standards and client and owner EHS expectations.
