Controller - Lead Finance Operations for a Longstanding Oregon Business
Location: Portland, OR (Onsite)
Compensation: $110,000 - $130,000 DOE

Controller – Our client, a well-established and respected regional distributor in the construction and home improvement industry, is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee all accounting and financial operations. This hands-on leadership role will manage the company's accounting team, drive process improvements, and support strategic decision-making for a growing organization with a proud local presence.

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, A/R, A/P, payroll, and inventory accounting.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
• Lead the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage and mentor a small accounting team, fostering collaboration and accountability.
• Coordinate annual financial reviews and maintain compliance with GAAP standards.
• Partner with ownership and leadership to analyze profitability, control costs, and support operational efficiency.
• Recommend and implement improvements to accounting systems and internal controls.

• Strong understanding of inventory and cost accounting in a distribution, retail, or manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP and accounting systems; advanced Excel skills preferred.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
