GENERAL MANAGER OF RETAIL

Roseline Coffee is seeking an experienced multi‑unit General Manager to lead our Portland‑area cafés. The General Manager will be accountable for the financial and operating performance of this business unit and is responsible for building and managing a world‑class team that consistently delivers high quality experiences to our customers and creates a positive working environment for Roseline employees.

The ideal candidate is someone who has experience operating multi‑unit coffee retail, loves building and leading teams, excels at developing and managing scalable systems and processes, and thrives in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.

The General Manager of Retail reports directly to the Roseline Coffee leadership team and will directly manage Roseline’s team of Café Managers.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3+ years of experience as a multi‑unit retail General Manager (preferably within specialty coffee)
  • 7+ years of experience within the coffee industry
  • Proven success at hiring, training and retaining top tier quality café managers and baristas
  • Demonstrable track record of improving same‑store sales performance and driving profitability
  • Strong understanding of P&L management
  • Experience developing and executing local marketing initiatives and community engagement programs
  • Must have Oregon Food Handlers permit, is knowledgeable about food safety standards and best practices, and has experience interacting with compliance and regulatory authorities
  • Proficient in:
    Square POS, Square Team, Google Suite, spreadsheets and other software programs
RESPONSIBILITIES Team Leadership & Team Building:
  • Directly manage and mentor Roseline Coffee’s Café Managers
  • Build and cultivate high‑performing, cohesive teams across all retail locations
  • Lead by example, demonstrating exceptional hospitality standards and work ethic
Operations & Guest

Experience:
  • The General Manager’s primary responsibility and goal is to realize the Roseline mission in each café and lead a team of Café Managers to drive a positive culture in each of their respective cafes
  • Oversee all activities within the 4 walls of Roseline’s retail stores (including customer experience, facilities management and overseeing retail team members)
  • Engage with key vendors to ensure a reliable and accountable relationship
Financial Performance & Planning:
  • Work with leadership team to develop objectives, key results and related KPIs for each café
  • Conduct store‑level performance reviews with Café Managers to ensure organizational alignment
  • Responsible for managing inventory, staffing, and controllable expenses
Local Marketing & Store Activation:
  • Develop and execute location‑specific marketing strategies to drive traffic
  • Engage with the broader community for partnership and collaboration opportunities
COMPENSATION

The General Manager of Retail Operations will receive a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience and skill level, including:

  • Base Salary: $80,000 – $100,000 annually (DOE)
  • Incentive compensation: annual performance‑based bonus
  • Benefits: health, dental, and vision insurance; short‑term disability; employer‑paid life insurance; access to mental health resources; 401(k) coming 2026
