Make a Tangible Impact as an Associate Director of Supportive Housing for Central City Concern

Central City Concern is seeking a visionary, battle-tested leader to step into the role of Associate Director of Supportive Housing. This isn’t a passive desk job or a role where you just maintain the status quo. You will be the strategic architect bridging frontline, life‑saving transitional and permanent housing programs with critical regional and federal partners. If you are ready to command a diverse portfolio, mentor a passionate team of supervisors, and pioneer innovative care strategies from the ground up to end chronic homelessness in the Portland metro area, this is your next chapter.

Why

This Role Matters
  • True Systemic Influence:
You won’t just manage programs; you will actively shape the future of community care and re‑entry housing by serving on CCC’s Operational Leadership Team.
  • Empower the Frontlines:
You will directly mentor, develop, and inspire a dedicated tier of Program Managers and Supervisors, building a culture of resilience, professional growth, and boundary‑focused care.
  • The Bridge to Innovation:
You will turn visionary agency goals into concrete reality, working closely with Senior Executives, Quality Management, and City, County, State, and Federal funding agencies to revolutionize engagement and retention strategies.
  • Holistic, Outcome‑Based Care: CCC is a trusted leader in Portland because we target the intersection of homelessness, poverty, and addiction through real, data‑driven transformation.
What You Bring To The Table
  • Deep Subject Matter Expertise: A solid foundation in supportive housing systems (8 years of direct experience, OR a Bachelor’s + 6 years, OR an Associate’s + 7 years).
  • Proven Leadership Muscle:
At least 3 years of direct supervisory or managerial experience, with a track record of hiring, scaling, and evaluating high‑performing teams.
  • Lived or Professional Resonance:
Direct, empathetic experience navigating the complexities of recovery from chemical dependency, homelessness, and mental illness.
  • Operational Excellence:
Comfortable managing annual budgets, tracking regional data systems (HMIS), launching new case management software, and ensuring strict compliance with complex government contracts.
  • Crisis IQ & De‑escalation:
Exceptional emotional intelligence with a non‑judgmental attitude, skilled in de‑escalation, and comfortable leading teams through verbally hostile or high‑stakes community environments.
The Culture & Perks
  • Mission‑Driven Alignment:
Work alongside colleagues who share a profound, active passion for social equity, treating every client and partner with absolute dignity.
  • Tools for Success:
Fully provided agency cell phone and fleet vehicle access/mileage support for necessary intra‑city travel.
  • A Standard of Safety: A healthy, productive, and structured drug‑free workplace that strictly values the safety of its staff and residents.
Company:

Central City Concern is an innovative nonprofit agency providing comprehensive services to single adults and families in the Portland metro area who are impacted by homelessness, poverty and addictions. We hire people that are skilled and passionate to meet our mission to end homelessness through outcome‑based strategies which support personal and community transformation.

Program:

CCC’s Supportive Housing consists of transitional and permanent housing programs. Supportive Housing programs offer case management, peer mentor services, employment specialists, eviction prevention, and more to support individuals who have experienced chronic houselessness. Our programs assist individuals with transitional housing and eventually, permanent housing and beyond.
