Research and Development Technician
Location:
Building Envelope - Corp Portland, OR
- Performs testing for the Research and Development laboratory with limited supervision, including raw material and finished material testing.
- Assists quality technicians with training and root cause analysis, plant trials, lab maintenance and organization.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment.
- Partner with employees and management in manufacturing and research departments to ensure the capability of new processes in the plants. Interacts with all levels in the company.
- Perform regular auditing and calibrations of laboratory equipment.
- Maintain routine lab supplies for the department.
- Assist with writing and implementation of documentation for procedures performed in the laboratory, which include raw materials and finished products.
- Follow all documented procedures and standards utilized by the department and in the industry.
- Communicate effectively with quality control, production, maintenance, operations, warehouse personnel, and plant management.
- Regular and predictable attendance is essential in this role.
A high school diploma or GED plus 1–3 years of prior manufacturing or lab technician experience is required. Previous experience as a quality technician, process technician, operations technician, or working in a manufacturing environment is desired. An associate or bachelor’s degree in a scientific or technical field is a plus.
