Position: Machine Operator I - 1st Shift

Job Summary

Apply metal to customer orders and accurately process material according to the work order specifications. Ensure that processing equipment is maintained in a safe and clean condition. Maintain processing area in a clean, safe and orderly manner. Complete all required information entry accurately. Perform any other tasks as assigned.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate material handling equipment such as cranes and forklifts (certification required).
  • Pull, inspect, and verify product before processing.
  • Set up and run machines based on setup notes and work orders.
  • Ensure all processed material meets quality and measurement specifications.
  • Accurately record inspection data and maintain material .
  • Communicate order changes or clarifications with sales reps.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and general equipment clean‑up.
  • Weigh, package, and label materials correctly.
  • Identify, record, and segregate scrap or non‑conforming material.
  • Train others when needed and assist with lean/quality initiatives.
  • Follow all safety protocols—this is a hands‑on role near heavy machinery.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
  • Basic math skills; ability to read and write clearly.
  • Previous warehouse or metals industry experience preferred.
  • Certified forklift and crane operation experience.
  • Proficiency with handheld measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
  • Comfortable using computers for data entry.
