Position Summary
Provide leadership to the sanitation team on ensuring the overall cleanliness of plant processes while maintaining a safe and sanitary food manufacturing facility. Ensure compliance with all food safety policies, procedures and regulatory criteria including SQF code, Good Manufacturing Practices, FSMA, CFIA regulations, and HACCP/HARPC.

Major Duties and Responsibilities- Manage and provide guidance to the sanitation team by creating a daily schedule and enforcing attendance, company rules, safety rules, and sanitation department requirements.
- Maintain inventory and order cleaning chemicals, equipment, and replacement parts, working directly with the Ecolab representative for site support.
- Develop and implement ongoing training programs in POKA, coordinate with L&D to ensure POKA compliance, and assist in training employees in sanitation and operations.
- Conduct routine daily post‑cleaning inspections, including ATP program; review sanitation records, CIP charts, flow rates, and chemical concentrations using plant software such as 3D Tracer, Redzone, and other plant‑specific tools.
- Conduct, document, and attend meetings with the department or cross‑functional employees.
- Manage sanitation department labor and supply budgets, and report status to the Department Manager.
- Ensure all sanitation equipment is operational; perform routine inspections, troubleshoot issues, coordinate with maintenance or third‑party resources, and replace aging or non‑operative equipment.
- Collaborate with plant microbiology in PEM (environmental monitoring) program execution.
- Evaluate, update, and execute the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) to reflect equipment changes, new equipment, and cleaning processes; act as subject matter expert representing sanitation in scheduled audits.
- Ensure Ventura Foods’ sanitation program is followed and adhered to.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Prior supervisory or lead position experience required.
- Required:
Knowledge of CIP and COP cleaning techniques. - Must be mechanically inclined and able to troubleshoot problems both mechanically and physically.
- Experience in leading employees and communicating effectively to achieve company goals.
- Ability to motivate people positively and provide discipline when necessary.

- Salary base range of $69,370.00 – $88,499.25*.
- Annual bonus (based on incentive program terms and conditions).

RequirementsTypical shifts are 8 hours per day; additional unscheduled time after hours and on weekends may be required. Employees must be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment as required by company policy or legal requirements. Certain jobs may require:
