Join our dynamic team as a Preventive Maintenance Assistant Manager at our advanced Portland Food Manufacturing plant. This pivotal role involves enhancing our asset reliability and maintenance operations, ensuring optimal production performance, and leading a skilled team to achieve continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
People and Labor Management
  • Oversee and ensure safety, quality, and efficiency in assigned areas, providing remote support as needed.
  • Facilitate daily maintenance meetings and promote accountability for performance.
  • Recruit, interview, and extend offers to mechanics, while managing union-related matters effectively.
  • Develop the skills of the maintenance team through training and capability building initiatives.
Asset Reliability
  • Manage lubrication programs and collaborate with reliability engineers to develop and execute maintenance strategies.
  • Control the maintenance budget and implement cost-effective improvements.
  • Lead preventive maintenance initiatives and support autonomous teams in standard development.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to enhance line performance and minimize downtime.
Productivity and Process Improvements
  • Collaborate with the Core Centric Team to reduce production line losses and improve equipment performance.
  • Optimize inventory management by reducing obsolete parts and enhancing accuracy.
  • Implement best practices across production lines and utilize data to recover from efficiency losses.
Labor & Scheduling
  • Create and manage shutdown schedules for maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate staffing for weekend shifts according to plant needs.
  • Organize and prioritize maintenance tasks, ensuring efficient execution.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a maintenance role, preferably in manufacturing.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Maintenance Lead in a manufacturing environment, particularly in the food industry.
  • Strong proficiency in project management and operational leadership.
  • Computer skills including MS Office and experience with CMMS like SAP.
  • Excellent communication and decision-making abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred; associate degree or equivalent experience considered.
Work Schedule & Benefits

The position operates Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 3 PM, with overtime and weekend work as necessary. Candidates must be flexible to work different shifts and be on call.
