Schedule:

Description
We are seeking a skilled Welder / Fabricator who enjoys working on brand-new trucks and vans, building and installing the equipment that turns them into work-ready commercial vehicles.
This is not repair work and not repetitive production welding from perfect prints. Instead, this role combines hands-on fabrication with equipment installation, working directly on new vehicles in a clean, well-equipped shop.
Much of the work involves fabricating brackets, mounts, plates, and supports to service bodies, lift gates, shelving systems, and other accessories on new truck chassis. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys solving real-world fitment challenges and building custom solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Weld and fabricate brackets, mounts, adapter plates, and structural supports
- Modify and adapt service bodies and equipment to fit new truck chassis
- Install service bodies, flatbeds, liftgates, shelving systems, and ladder racks
- Perform fabrication and installation work directly on new trucks and vans
- Solve real-world fitment challenges using measurements, sketches, and fabrication techniques
- Perform MIG welding on steel components (aluminum welding experience preferred)
- Fabricate components in-house to keep builds moving and reduce reliance on outside vendors
- Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while following shop safety procedures
- Strong MIG welding experience (steel required; aluminum a plus)
- Ability to measure, fit, and fabricate accurately
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Experience working directly on vehicles, equipment, or structural assemblies
- Comfortable working from measurements, sketches, or incomplete prints
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high quality standards
- Truck equipment installation or vehicle upfitting
- Trailer fabrication or repair
- Equipment or industrial fabrication shops
- Agricultural or heavy equipment repair
- Custom fabrication or small fabrication shop experience
- Clean, well-equipped commercial vehicle upfitting shop
- Hands-on fabrication and installation work on new trucks and vans
- Collaborative team environment with experienced fabricators and technicians
- Varied daily work rather than repetitive production welding
- Fast-paced shop environment with a focus on quality craftsmanship
- $34 - $42 per hour depending on experience
- Stable full-time position with long-term career potential
- Opportunity to work on new commercial vehicle builds
- Diverse fabrication and installation work
- Team-oriented shop with strong craftsmanship standards
