Salt & Straw is looking for Production Prep Team Members to support our Central Kitchen of Oregon (CKOR) production facility located in Portland’s Central Eastside.
The Production Prep Team Member is an entry-level role within the Staging Department responsible for preparing, organizing, and staging ingredients, materials, and packaging to support daily production. This role plays a critical part in ensuring production teams have the right materials, in the right quantities, at the right time. Production Prep Team Members follow established procedures, recipes, and food safety standards while working within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
What Salt & Straw Warehouse Prep Team Members Do:
Accurately portion, weigh, measure, label, and stage ingredients following recipes, batch sheets, and company standards
Assemble, organize, and stage ingredients, materials, and equipment according to production schedules
Stage packaging materials including pint cups, lids, tubs, and related items to support production needs
Clean, return, and properly store sub-assembly materials while following GMPs and allergen-handling protocols
Transfer ingredients and materials as needed for thawing, down stacking, or production readiness
Follow First-In, First-Out (FIFO) inventory rotation and material handling procedures
Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe work area by following sanitation, safety, and hygiene standards
Identify and report quality issues, discrepancies, or missing materials to leadership in a timely manner
Use Net Suite to confirm ingredient accuracy and support efficient workflow between departments
Communicate clearly and respectfully with Production, Quality, and Staging team members to support smooth operations
This Role Might Be Right If You:
Have prior experience in food production, manufacturing, warehouse, or commercial food preparation environments
Have strong attention to detail and accuracy
Have basic counting and math skills
Are comfortable working efficiently within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Communicate clearly and respectfully with coworkers and leaders
Are comfortable working within a manufacturing facility alongside multiple teams
Can follow written and verbal instructions including recipes and staging procedures
Are comfortable working around food allergens and within refrigerated/freezer environments
Are reliable, organized, and comfortable performing repetitive physical tasks
Have fluency in English What You’ll Get:
Everyday Pay:

Wage Transparency:
The anticipated hiring range for this position is $17.10-$18.25. The broader compensation range of $17.10-$20.91 reflects future earning growth within the role over time.
