Summary

The purpose of a sanitation tech at Etz Hayim is to work together with Operations and Quality teams in the production of high-quality products while ensuring efficiency and safety. They will be responsible for maintaining cGMP cleanliness standards of equipment, tools, parts and work areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hourly, daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly tasks are completed and signed off / documented when complete.
  • Focuses on the cleanliness and maintaining sanitary conditions of the production rooms, facilities and equipment.
  • Completes assigned Master Sanitation Schedule tasks - items are completed on time and signed off accordingly.
  • Proper use of chemicals for the task.
  • Match the needs of production, the business and regulatory requirements. This may and will require reprioritization of tasks to meet the needs.
  • Execute the plan as defined by the leadership.
  • Participate in the morning production alignment meeting. Understand your role and how you and your actions fit to the team’s goal and completion.
  • Adhere to daily timelines for tasks.
  • In collaboration with QC, ensures equipment, tools and rooms/facilities maintain cGMP standards at all times.
  • Completes all training requirements as needed.
  • Maintain work areas and perform job functions in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Master Sanitation Schedules and Batch Production Record (BPR) instructions.
  • Work with a lean/efficiency mindset.
  • Observe current working procedures and bring up suggestions for improvement.
  • Master the disassembly, cleaning and reassembly of equipment (Pumps, tanks, kettles, mixer, forming machine, oven, metal detector, etc.).
  • Responsible for performing additional related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • 1 year experience working in batch process manufacturing, with sanitation experience.
  • Ability to follow SOPs and SSOPs.
  • GFSI, SQF, BRC, Organic, Kosher experience are a plus.
  • Able to clearly communicate, including documentation/sign-off of completed tasks.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Able to show up on time and perform duties assigned.
  • Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively. We record task completion and M.S.S. completion on electronic tablets.
  • Ability to receive instruction and follow directions.
  • Ability to interact positively with co‑workers and management.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to follow company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to follow cGMP and other regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot warehouse equipment.
  • Detail‑oriented with the ability to identify errors and/or inconsistencies while performing tasks.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
