Position: CNC Mill & Lathe Setup Machinist
Location: NE Portland, OR (Marine Drive area)
Pay: $25+/hr DOE
Schedule: Swing Shift | Monday–Friday | 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Who We AreOpti Staffing is partnering with a well-established precision manufacturing company in NE Portland. This team specializes in high-quality machining and production, offering a stable work environment with opportunities to grow your skills in CNC machining.
What You'll Do- Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes for production runs
- Load materials and ensure proper machine operation
- Perform machine offsets and make adjustments to maintain quality and tolerances
- Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and job travelers
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments
- Change tooling and perform routine machine setup tasks
- Work closely with production and quality teams to meet daily production goals
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Competitive starting pay of $25+/hr DOE
- Steady swing shift schedule (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM)

- Experience setting up and operating CNC mills and/or CNC lathes
- Ability to read blueprints and understand machining specifications
- Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Basic understanding of machining processes and quality standards
- 2+ years of CNC machining experience
- Experience performing machine setups with minimal supervision
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Reliable attendance and a positive work ethic
- Ability to work the swing shift schedule
- Experience with both CNC mills and CNC lathes
- Knowledge of G-code, conversational programming, or editing programs
- Experience in a production or job shop environment
- Familiarity with tight-tolerance machining
