Job Description
As a Blood Component Manufacturing Technician, you will manufacture blood products and samples, processing blood units received from donors into transfusable components such as red cells, platelets, plasma, and performing leukoreduction. You will also perform advanced manufacturing tasks such as pooled product manufacturing, freeze, wash, deglycerolization, and pathogen reduction.
Key Responsibilities- Meet quality and quantity production goals while prioritizing workload expectations and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Perform inventory management practices throughout the manufacturing and distribution process.
- Enter data and operate computer systems associated with component production, labeling, storage, and sample tube management.
- Analyze visual inspection data and information from other departments to meet time objectives.
- Communicate effectively with internal customers, vendors, and volunteers.
- Adapt to a variable schedule that includes weekends and holidays to meet hospital needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent required (science degree is a plus).
- Minimum 2 years of related experience in a regulatory, laboratory, or manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Advanced computer skills and ability to learn new programs.
- Ability to use a wide variety of laboratory equipment.
- Strict attention to detail, accurate documentation, and good decision‑making skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
Requires standing, stretching, stooping, and bending for extended periods. Must lift, pull, push, and move objects up to 50 pounds. May work in walk‑in refrigerators/freezers for periods of time and may be required to wear protective clothing such as lab coats, gloves, and face shields.

Pay: $21.25 per hour, plus $2 per hour for weekend hours worked.
Shift: Tuesday‑Saturday, 0700‑1530.
Training will be full‑time for approximately 4 weeks (Monday‑Friday, 8:00‑17:00, with some weeks starting as early as 6:00).
