Basket Washer
The Basket Washer is responsible for operating machines that wash baskets in our bakery. The role includes placing baskets into a movable bed, setting specifications for water or steam jets, starting the machine, inspecting baskets for remaining foreign matter, and measuring and pouring soap or detergent into wash water.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities- Clean basket washing equipment, walls, and floors using specific procedures as directed.
- Follow specific instructions to clean equipment and area. Comply with Confined Space Policy and Procedure.
- Keep accurate records of cleaning performed and inspect for areas needing attention.
- Inform foreperson or manager of any unsanitary practices that may be occurring in the area.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Support and adhere to Franz Core Values.
- Complete related duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Some previous work experience preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently.
- Must be able to stand for 8 or more hours and perform repetitive reaching and grasping tasks with tools and equipment.
- Frequent kneeling, squatting, bending, lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling 50 to 100 lbs.
- Must be able to work any day, including holidays, and any shift.
- Must have reliable attendance to meet employer attendance standards for 24/7 production.
- Ability to work in high temperature environments.
- Will be exposed to cleaning solutions, flour dust, dust, and various chemicals.
