CNC Programmer

This project-based CNC Programmer role focuses on creating precise CNC programs for multiple 3-axis and 4-axis machines used in metal part production. You will use a combination of Mastercam and manual coding to support a 4–6 month effort to clear a production backlog, with flexibility for part-time and off-shift work.

Responsibilities
  • Create accurate and efficient CNC production programs using Mastercam for 3-axis and 4-axis mills.
  • Develop and refine CNC programs through both Mastercam and manual coding to support metal part production.
  • Program multiple 3-axis and 4-axis machines and prove out programs to ensure they run safely and correctly.
  • Review and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to translate design requirements into CNC programs.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize machining strategies and cycle times.
  • Demonstrate and explain newly created programs to machine operators to ensure proper setup and operation.
  • Troubleshoot and adjust programs as needed based on feedback from the shop floor and machining results.
  • Maintain organized records of programs, revisions, and setups to support repeatable production.
Essential Skills
  • Proven experience in CNC programming for 3-axis and 4-axis mills.
  • Strong proficiency with Mastercam for creating and modifying CNC programs.
  • Ability to perform manual coding for CNC programs when needed.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Capability to work autonomously while knowing when to seek support from leadership or engineering.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality programs.
  • Effective communication skills to guide machine operators on program use and setup.

Work Environment

You will work in a metal part production facility with an industrial manufacturing floor and a dedicated engineering office where most programming activities take place. The role is project-based, expected to last approximately 4–6 months, and offers flexibility for part-time or off-shift work, including day or swing shifts that can complement a second job. You will interact closely with production leadership, engineers, and machine operators in a collaborative environment focused on clearing a production backlog while maintaining high quality standards.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
