Position: CNC Mill/Lathe Setup Machinist

Location:

NE Portland, OR (Marine Drive Area) Pay: $22.00-$35.00+/hr DOE (All experience levels encouraged to apply)

What

You'll Do
  • Set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes for production and job shop work
  • Load materials, install tooling, and verify machine setups
  • Make tool wear offsets and machine adjustments to maintain quality
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and job travelers
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment
  • Maintain tight tolerances and ensure quality standards are met
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and support continuous process improvement
  • Work collaboratively with the production team to meet deadlines

What You Need to Have
  • Experience operating and setting up CNC mills and/or lathes
  • Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring equipment
  • Basic understanding of machining practices and tooling
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
The Musts
  • 2+ years of CNC machining experience preferred
  • Ability to perform machine setups with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Reliable attendance and a positive work ethic
  • Preferred Experience with CNC programming (G-code or conversational programming)
  • Job shop or production machining experience
  • Experience holding tight tolerances
  • Experience with Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, Okuma, or similar controls
